Diversity in America is like a salad. Each piece of the lettuce holds its own identity but the whole salad is mixed together and held in one bowl. Likewise each person has a distinct difference from one another, but we are all living in the same country. 1. Why did you decide to take this course? Being that I am a young African American female I wanted to go to a prestigious college with a mixture of different cultures. Learning about my culture along with other ones was an important part of growing up. When I came across this class I really was interested in what it had to offer. Both of these theorists have their own beliefs on how children develop.
